Thank you for the energy, ideas, and thoughtful projects you’ve brought to this statewide learning community. Together, we’ve begun to see how educators and staff across the California Community Colleges are using Playlab to make their work more human-centered—expanding access, improving student success, and strengthening support for colleagues. As we move into Session 3, the through-line across all cohorts is clear: you’re ready to keep building. Participants are developing chatbots that streamline onboarding and communication, tools that help students practice reflection and receive personalized feedback, and systems that reduce administrative friction so more time can go toward teaching and connection. You also told us what would help most—more hands-on time, concrete examples from peers, and a clearer sense of next steps. In response, Session 3 will center extended build time, targeted breakout support, and role-specific demonstrations from your colleagues. Each cohort will continue deepening its focus:
After Session 3, we’ll take a short pause before reconvening in December for the next series—where participants can continue their builds, join a community of practice, or begin facilitator certification.Your participation is shaping what statewide AI capacity looks like. We hope you’ll stay with us through this next phase and help model what thoughtful, equitable innovation can look like across our colleges.
